The Honeynet Project Vision
The Honeynet Project is a diverse, talented, and engaged group of international computer security experts who conduct open, cross disciplinary research and development into the evolving threat landscape. It cooperates with like-minded people and organizations in that endeavor.
UNAM Chapter Organization
The UNAM Honeynet Project it's an iniciative of the Instrusion Detection and Honeypot Technologies area, belonging to the SSI/UNAM-CERT and the DGTIC within the UNAM. It consists of several work lines in areas related to information security and academic research.
Among the activities carried out are:
- Research, development and use of honeypot technologies.
- Analysis of malicious network traffic.
- Deployment of Darknet technologies.
- Malware samples capture
- Creating tutorials, manuals and references related to malicious traffic detection.
- Engage with the Honeynet Project as the UNAM Chapter since several years ago and relation with national and international universities as well organizations focused on information security.
It has an infrastructure of development, analysis and tests to obtain relevant information about threats from malicious traffic and the UNAM network.
